The Search Coil.com was created to provide myself a platform to talk about metal detecting. I've learned so much from the web and thought I'd start providing some hopefully useful information in return.

I've been metal detecting for 12 years seriously, but have been exposed to the hobby at an early age with my father. Some of those years I was out more than others, but no matter what I've found myself digging in the dirt every season. During those years I've learned a few tricks to help me come home with a few keepers. I'm more than willing to share what I know... and maybe it might help a newcomer to the sport of metal detecting.

My goal for the site is to start off as an information blog discussing techniques and ideas for successful metal detecting, but I'm hoping that it can grow with user contributed articles and a forum. Nothing beats a great community discussion to promote new creative thinking.
